The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) is an official authoritative Korean educational evaluation institution and the sole organizer of the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). It is fully responsible for TOPIK’s proposition, organization, marking, scoring, certificate issuance and global examination management. Affiliated with the Ministry of Education of South Korea, its core functions include basic education curriculum research and development, education quality evaluation, language proficiency assessment and international education examination operation, serving as a core executive institution for the standardization and internationalization of Korean education. As a globally recognized authoritative Korean language proficiency test, TOPIK’s examination standards, system and grading rules are uniformly formulated and updated by KICE to ensure professionalism, fairness and authority. It continuously optimizes the Korean language evaluation system, formulates assessment standards suitable for study abroad, employment and business scenarios, provides standardized proficiency certification for global Korean learners, and promotes the international dissemination of Korean language and culture.
