The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) of South Korea is a core government agency in South Korea's real economy field. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry established in 1948, which was officially named in 2013 after many reorganizations and integrations. The ministry is responsible for promoting industrial growth, expanding exports, and advancing international trade and cooperation, with the core goal of enhancing the international competitiveness of South Korean enterprises and promoting the sustainable development of South Korea's economy. At the same time, it is responsible for stabilizing the supply of energy and resources, ensuring the needs of economic growth and people's daily lives, formulating industrial policies, trade negotiations, and promoting Free Trade Agreements (FTA) in a coordinated manner, responding to international trade protectionism, optimizing the industrial structure, and helping South Korea's industry transform towards high-end and internationalization, playing an irreplaceable leading role in South Korea's economic development.
