 YTN is the first professional news channel in South Korea to achieve 24-hour uninterrupted broadcasting nationwide. Founded on September 14, 1993, it was officially launched on March 1, 1995, pioneering all-day news broadcasting in South Korea. Originally named Yonhap Television News, it was affiliated to Yonhap News Agency, relying on the agency's strong news collection and editing resources to achieve fast and accurate news gathering and broadcasting. It was officially separated from Yonhap News Agency in 1998 for independent operation.
